Boys Bowling: Deerfield Falls to Stevenson
Warriors drop to 2-3 but Cole, Thomas continue strong efforts.
Deerfield lost its third match of the year Tuesday night on the road against Stevenson 3,012-2,886.
Junior Zach Cole delivered another solid performance, rolling a three-game total of 715 to lead all bowlers. Cole currently leads the Northern Illinois Boys Bowling Conference with a 226.92 average.
He also appeared to be on his way to his second perfect game of the season after rolling eight straight strikes to start the night. But he left one pin standing in the ninth frame and finished with a 255 in the first game.
Quinn Thomas posted the second highest total for the Warriors with a 589 total score. He currently stands third in the NIBBC with a 214.25 average.
Deerfield won the first game, but Stevenson captured the next two as a well-balanced attack was too much for Deerfield to handle. The Patriots had three bowlers score 580 or higher, led by Ashton Wasserman’s 672.
Deerfield falls to 2-3 on the season.
