All Deerfield High School athletes planning to continue their sport in college are invited to participate in the Central Suburban League’s College Recruiting Night at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the New Trier West campus.
The event is open to freshmen, sophomores and juniors at all conference schools, which includes Deerfield, and their parents.
Speakers from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Wheaton College and New Trier will talk about different aspects of college athletics, hold a panel discussion and answer questions.
Detailed information about speakers Maureen Harty, NCAA associate director for academic and membership affairs, Wheaton College Football Coach Mike Swider and Susie Thorgnren, coordinator of the career development program at New Trier, can be found on the Deerfield High School website.
The event hopes support student athletes who think they may want to continue to participate after high school and provide insight into the college recruiting process at all levels, according to a release by the Central Suburban League. More information is available on the Deerfield High School website.
