Letter to the Editor:

Reader demands apology from Drury for false advertising.

Dear Editor,

It was decided yesterday that WBBM-Newsradio Chicago was ordered to suspend radio ads that falsely accused Mark Shaw of saying things he never said.  I know Mark Shaw to be as honorable as a person that I've ever met, and feel that it is criminal that Scott Drury could stoop this low along with Michael Madigan.  What does this say about their character?  I feel that an apology is required here, and the voters of the 58th district should all be made aware of this.

Stop spreading lies, and the patch SHOULD no better not printing lies! Drury had nothing to do with it. It was an outside group, not his campaign. Do your research first. Obviously this uninformed writer or Patch editor did. Shame on you!

Again, Karkazis and all the other GOP committeman hacks are spinning their heads off with this one. Doesn't matter that Drury wasn't involved. They don't let facts get in the way of their story.

Scott has no control what others do. Typical smear tactics. Like Bush wasn't involved with the swift boaters. I hope the Patch is sued. My wife's firm is offering them her services.

We just did a search on this Karkakass guy, now we understand. The Patch should know what they are getting into with this "person." Check his background! Lexis Nexis has plenty. SMH

Cole, get a hold of yourself. Are you still upset about Mark Shale? Do your little brat kids actually look up to you? Another typical democrat with the name calling. what a loser you are

Cole - is it really necessary to call people names? And Walter - you would gain a lot more credibility if you wouldn't be so hostile with your name-calling as well. And, finally, I would value the Patch much more if they would censor these blog postings for this type of unnecessary nastiness. I don't know whether Mr. Drury was involved or not - but the bigger issue is why any of us in this state continue to put up with the thug tactics of Mr. Madigan and his family. With each passing year, it becomes more difficult to fight this family dynasty.....frankly, I really don't know why anyone would want to run on the Republican ticket in this state. And even if you are a straight Democrat - I don't think anyone really wants a one-ticket ballot. That is NOT what this country was founded on.

I know Obama will win Tuesday, seeing all the desperate GOP'ers makes me feel all warm and.fuzzy. Dold down 4 points, Walsh down 10 points. So I am happy. Mark, I did buy a robe, a pair of tuxedo pants and two Polo buttondowns at Mark Shale the day after they announced they were going under. Thanks for being so concerned. My son at Stanford and daughter at Georgetown I don't think are brats.

Sounds like they got as far away from you as possible without leaving the country. That says a lot. Be careful what you post on here, try to be professional for a change. We all know Walter is a complete loser, don't be like him. And finally, AMEN to the LF Resident !!! There's a reason it costs so much to live there.

@Cole - I'm not referring to that type of censorship and you know it. There are many blogsites that don't allow nasty name-calling and belittling in their comments - and I believe those sites have a much richer credability. That's because their goals are to encourage and allow healthy debate and not allow some punk to bully with words. So let's agree that can happen without the name-calling. Seriously, we are all adults.

Cole, lets see what you're made out of. Answer this question truthfully please; Do you think it is acceptable to make false derogatory accusations about your opponent?

At the end of campaigns, false accusations abound. Anyone familiar with politics knows that most of what is said in the last week of campaigning comes without the chance of rational rebuttal. And anything said of importance will be said throughout the year. That's why most intelligent voters make up their mind way before anything scurrilous, false, belittling or scandalous is made in last ditch efforts to garner votes.

The false ad was done by the same organization, led by Speaker Madigan, that has provided Drury with over $200k. Does anyone here really believe Drury had no idea about the ad? He's a former US Prosecutor, even he would find himself guilty on this one.

exactly C Wood, thank you. Of course he knew. Cole and Walter white are probably the same individual. Voters deserve to know the truth, and I hope the best candidate wins, and that is Mark Shaw.

The ad was not false Shaw is anti choice and supports conceal and carry. It was taken off because it was causing a distraction. Mr Shaw should take off is false ads

If Scott Drury was serious about stopping that deliberately false and malicious ad against Mark Shaw that was put on the air by a special Madigan PAC, then all Scott Drury has to do is say: "I disavow this ad and these types of tactics. If elected, I will refuse to vote for Michael Madigan for Speaker of the House."

But he and his followers aren't saying that now are they? Instead they attack Shaw supporters and Shaw for pointing out how deliberately false that ad was, so deliberately false that WBBM Radio pulled it off the air?

What's next? A vote for Mark Shaw is a vote for Michael Madigan? Oh yeah, in a Senate District south of ours, Michael Madigan just put out two mailers using another "independent PAC" claiming that Republican Senator Skip Saviano will vote for Michael Madigan for Speaker of the House, so everything there needs to vote for the Democrat to avoid this ugly scenario?

I would LOL right now if all this wasn't so pathetic. All the Democrats have this election cycle are deliberate lies and distortions. Their record running the federal government and state government into the ground? They are running as far away from that as possible!

Vote smart on Tuesday. Vote for change. Throw out the bums who have destroyed our once great state and nation. Vote Republican.

Blah Blah Blah. The GOP committee hacks are like a broken record. They are obsessed with Mike Madigan and don't have one positive thing to say about their own candidates. No plan, no ideas. There will be no real change. The only change will be a new party in power that has no clue as to how to turn this state around. Atsaves and his bunch have had months to put forward their plan for cutting state spending and haven't said a word.

Scott did asl that the ad be taken off because it was a discration. He has been trying to run a clean campaign unlike Mark Shaw. Who is anti choice and supports conceal and carry. Truth not lies. Mark Shaw would not know the truth if it looked him in the face. He lies to avoid letting the public know how far right he is. He is not the kind of person who should represent that community. His value are in direct opposition to the citizens of the district

Nancie, is that what you call a LIE now, a distraction? You are pathetic. Drury and Madigan were named in a lawsuit on Friday. Get it through your thick head that Drury and Madigan are responsible for the LIES.

Those are not lies. Can you tell me that Mark Shaw is completly pro choice or opposed to conceal ans carry? At the LWV debate all he spoke about was Madigan. Never gave any of his thoughts for what he would do if (no Chance) he would be elected. All he has done is run a negative campaign

You need help Nancie, I can see you're still bitter about all of the Dan Seals losses. I assume that you thought he had a chance to win as well. Mark Shaw will win the election, and if you'd like , why don't you call his campaign office and ask him your questions, and get the answers from Mr Shaw himself instead of shooting your mouth off.

Mark, get a life. In reality people do more things than insult and hate 24/7 on the patch website. The Bears won, how about watching football if it's allowed in your cell. Maybe your Mom will teach you it's ok if people disagree. Just because you assume and assault people on here doesn't mean you are right. Now landscape my lawn, the leaves don't pick themselves up. Tell Rush Limbaugh your lips and throat are tired and get to work.

Looks like regardless which one we vote for, they are clearly demonstrating that they can't get along--no matter what. Shame on both sides; I expected better from both! U both failed me on my vote.
