Patch's Deck the House $100,000 Winner Named
A family in California wins the money for their local schools.

The Powell family in Davis, CA beat out decked out homes across the country to win Patch's Deck the House contest this month.
The grand prize of $100,000 will go to the Davis school district to use as it chooses.
The contest invited Patch readers across the country to submit photos of their or their neighbors decorated homes. Readers voted on a winner from each Patch. The Powells beat out the 23 other finalists from among the local winners.
Closer to home, a Bolingbrook couple was among the 24 finalists vying for the top spot. But they couldn't compete with the Powells, who campaigned hard for the prize, including having their kids hand out flyers in downtown Davis.
