Poll: Do You Want Schneider or Dold?

Take the unofficial, unscientific Patch poll and give us your comments. You get the results Sunday.

With election day approaching Tuesday and the nation’s eyes focused on the 10th Congressional District race between Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) and Democratic challenger Brad Schneider of Deerfield, Patch is taking a very unscientific poll.

With very little polling information available to the general public, little is known about the potential outcome of the campaign. What is known is millions of dollars have been spent by the campaigns and outside groups trying to influence voters.

Earlier: National Democrats Shine Spotlight on 10th

The two contenders have debated once in a public in a forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters, Patch and the Union League Club of Chicago. They have also appeared on television together three times.

The Dold campaign released a poll today from We Ask America showing him ahead by eight points. A few weeks ago his campaign disclosed information showing the North Shore Congressman with a healthy lead. A Huffington Post report today gives Schneider a 4.5 point advantage based on three different independent rating systems.

The internal survey from the Dold campaign and the poll from We Ask America as well as the Washington pundits are in all likelihood scientific in their assessment. We assure you we are not. Our results will be a snapshot of those who wish to participate. Please do.

Sometime after 7 p.m. Tuesday everyone will know the answer. For now, please complete the poll beneath this story by 3 p.m. Saturday and we will publish the results Sunday.

My assumption is that, were Mr. Schneider to win the 10th District and Gov. Romney to win the Presidency, Mr. Schneider's first legislative effort would be to force Presidential candidates to release every tax return they've ever filed.

Now that would be very interesting, because Mr Schneider refuses to release HIS OWN tax return!

Democrat dude filled jointly. If you want his wife's returns, fine, let's see Dold's wife, Danielle, the IRS lawyer's returns as well. What? you didn't know Dold's wife makes money fighting poor bastards trashed by the IRS...while his darling husband trashes IRs in public? Dold is as fake as it comes...just like their party who wants freedom in Iraq and Americans on medicare or social security dead already so the Treasury could get a break...

I think Dold is the best candidate! Enough of the "bad-mouthing" so I won't tell you why. Just know he is the one to represent us with intelligence, understanding and sincerity. He's a hard worker, and he won't alienate his constituents with "class war" behavior. I vote Dold!

Your assumption and plebian experiences working for Dold should not sum up a reason to vote for one person over another. Vote the party NOT the person. If you were screwed with employer hours and rights, well, just thank ??? that your job was not sent to India or China. btw either party does not pay its interns well....or nothing. However, if anyone such as a voting citizen were pissed about an issue, who do you think would be best to LISTEN to it and SOLVE it?! Republicans = shut up you whiny thing or Democrats = IDENTIFY a SOLUTION for you and everyone else. The "what's in it for me ..is sooo"80's." Didn't Ronald Reagan even try to forget parts of that?

dold's supporter, I doubt the allegations you post against Congressman Dold have changed anyone's mind about voting for him. Why would anyone accept allegations made by an anonymous poster?

abigail if Jesus Christ will make allegations against Dold you still wouldn't believe them because you are one fanatic Republican who will vote for the stooge the party came up with, no matter what. Stop acting like you are open-minded. You have no problem with your candidate screwing the very people who make him money, good for you and fine with me. Know this though: Dold is a cheap crook. Now go make him Congressman again :) but remember this well: those who knowingly support evil are evil themselves. Your devotion and loyalty to Republican Party will prevent you to understand anything that I just said...only working for a crook like Dold will make you see the light and understand those not believing you then are worthless, just like those who don't believe me now.

Why is it that Senator Kirk is well enough to campaign for Representative Dold but not well enough to go to work? Admittedly, JJJ and his bipolar disorder have no business being on the ballot. But if Kirk is well enough to film videos for his pal Bob he should be well enough to be back in Capitol Hill. If not, follow Giffords' example and resign.

Jeff is right even though he is a Republican. Jesse...go away dude...your visits to the shrink tells us you can't represent yourself much less anyone else. And stay away from sharp objects like...FBI investigations...they cause someone to go crazy knowing FBI is looking into their way of conducting themselves. Or save money for lawyers Jesse Jackson...many money hahahahha, save all you can, It won't be enough but you don't want to join Blago without a fight, right? Same advise for Congressman Dold...you are next on the list dude...that overtime thing @ Rose Pest and doing business with Chicago Ohare's....not nice and, I hope, illegal. Lawyers...rejoice...crooks are lining up to pay you defend them against the FBI :) Bad, bad FBi hahahahaha but our last hope since voters are just imbeciles who vote for incumbents most of the time, no matter what...

You are right on the money! The emotional stress is crushing Jesse Jackson...he knows forecast calls for Hurricane FBI to make landfall right on his head. Expect Robert Dold to develop mental distress as well. Why do you think Dold wants "less government" for businesses in general and his in particular? Less labor lawys, less regulations...everyone at their employers'mercy... Dold...check yourself in a mental clinic...ask Jesse for tips regaring diagnostics supposed to inspire pity hahahahha.
