For 23 years has been the band director at . 

“It’s got a place I think for everybody," Brame said. "We’ve got students that are very advanced and serious and planning to major in music in college and we’ve got students who are really intermediate players.”

For more than two decades Brame has been fine-tuning the music department, “I want students to learn not just how to play their instruments but to really understand music. It’s history, it’s power to evoke emotion, to tell a story, to say something about a culture,” he said and is proud of where the department is today.

“I think the fact that we really do focus on more than just the technical aspects of music and that students really are doing composing and learning about the history, makes us a little unique."
