1. Deerfield Teens Charged in Highland Park Burglary

Deerfield residents Joseph J. Mahoney and Joshua S. Norris, both 17, were charged as adults for a burglary in the 3000 block of Parkside in Highland Park. Both Mahoney and Norris were charged with home invasion, residential burglary and possession of a stolen firearm, according to the Highland Park Police Department.

2. Charges Filed in Fatal Highland Park Crash

Carly Rousso, 18, Highland Park, was charged in the Highland Park crash in the 700 block of Central Avenue which left Jaclyn Santos-Sacramento, 5, of Highland Park, dead.

5. Woman Stopped Twice By Police in 10 Minutes

When Deerfield Police stopped Blair Worobow after police said she swerved from one lane of Deerfield Road to another Feb. 29, it was the second traffic stop within 10 minutes for the 22-year old Highland Park woman, according to Deerfield Police reports. Before the incident was over, Worobow was charged with Driving Under the Influence (Drugs) and improper lane usage, according to the report.

Deerfield High School switches the date of prom to April 21 amid safety concerns over the G8 summit in Chicago.

7. Village Reacts to Rosebud Sign

When the Village Board of Trustees denied the request of Rosebud to keep a sign it erected in violation of Deerfield’s laws, there was no shortage of reaction.

8. Wonder Closes After Three Months

Wonder!, the Deerfield children’s superstore and activity center in Deerbrook Mall closed after three months of operation because of financial difficulties.
