Are you a fan of quilts or art? If so be sure to stop by the Patty Turner Center this month and look at the quilts made by Deerfields own Wayne Rhodes.
Artist Bio:
Wayne has lived in Deerfield since 1979 and has been quilting for over 17 years.
During that period he has made over 100 quilts (and numerous other quilted bags). The largest quilts have been queen-sized, and the smallest was for his daughter’s dollhouse (about 3” x 5”).
One of the queen-sized quilts is made up of 4,845 pieces! Another quilt was made from 50 different fabrics.
Since 2009 he has taught quilting classes at the Patty Turner Senior Center, Deerfield High School (Adult Continuing Education), and at the Quilters Heaven quilt store in Northbrook.
The quilts on display represent a sampling of the different sizes and styles that Wayne makes. You can see all of his amazing creations at waynesquilts.blogspot.com.
