If you already put the Black Friday behind you and still didn’t find the right gift, we have a suggestion – great book is always a welcome gift, even in the era of the Internet. Anna Karenina is on everybody’s mind right now because of the movie, but I found in my library the book which I can read over and over again, and all the time I learn a new life lesson. The book is Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe. This is the lesson I learnt recently:
On the Bright Side
I learned t look more on the bright side of my condition, and less upon the dark side, and to consider what I enjoyed, rather than what I wanted; and this gave me sometimes such secret comforts, that I cannot express them; and which I take notice here, to put those discontented people in mind of it, who cannot enjoy comfortably what God has given them, because they see and cover something that He has not given them. All our discontents about what we want appeared to me to spring from the want of thankfulness for what we have.
I hope you will have really spiritual holidays, full of giving and receiving.
