A collector of vintage cameras and avid photographer, John Greene, this month’s Patty Turner Center featured artist of the month, is a member of the Deerfield Park District staff who states that he has “gone through 20 cameras taking pictures that he feels friends and relatives will enjoy.”
Growing up in Northbrook, John graduated from Glenbrook North and Triton College with an automotive degree. In 1994, after 20 years with the phone company, john went to work for the Deerfield Park District . Married to wife Linda, John and Linda reside in Wheeling with daughter Jennifer and canine companion Kato, their Yorkie Terrier.
With the focus of his exhibit on sports cars, racing and nature, John states that he’s “always had a passion for cars and enjoys the challenge of capturing the action of the moment to try to tell a story.” I’ve been fortunate to combine my love of cars and photography as I spend my leisure time at the race track taking pictures of other friend’s racecars and various competitors.
Adds John, “I really enjoy the outdoors too. As a photographer, I’ve also enjoyed capturing the wonders, colors and beauty of nature.”
John Greene’s exhibit of photography will be on display at the PTC through the end of March.
