DESCRIPTION:Rob Sherman\, Illinois' most prominent atheist\, will be the 
 guest speaker of Kol Hadash Humanistic Congregation Friday\, November 30
 . Sherman will discuss his many public efforts to stop public funds from
  being steered toward houses of worship\, parochial schools and religiou
 s ministries for sectarian purposes. Sherman currently has an appeal pen
 ding before the United States Supreme Court to stop a $20\,000 grant by 
 the State of Illinois to rebuild a 110-foot-high Christian cross on priv
 ate property in southern Illinois. He also was the plaintiff\, along wit
 h his daughter\, in the 2009 litigation that challenged the Moment of Si
 lence law in Illinois public schools. Kol Hadash Humanistic Congregation
 s welcomes its members and guests to celebrate a humanistic Shabbat serv
 ice and hear the unique perspective of this firebrand atheist activist. 
 The service takes place Friday\, November 30\, 8:00 PM at Heller Nature 
 Center\, 2821 Ridge Road\, Highland Park.\nKol Hadash Humanistic Congreg
 ation has offices in Lincolnshire\, holds Shabbat services at the Heller
  Nature Center in Highland Park\, and Sunday School classes at Deerfield
