We gather together as a group who choose to support each other as we experience our joys and sorrows.  We discuss our interests, concerns, and experiences in the check-in part of our meeting. Some of our favorite topics have included programs about members' travels, bringing treasure to discuss with each other, book exchanges where we bring favorite books to lend or give to one another, a discussion of what "sacred" means to each of us.  We discuss what coping strategies work well for us and learn from one another.  In a recent meeting we discussed how we each cheer ourselves up in difficult times.  Our group welcomes seniors who would like to join us.

Come one, come all. If North Shore Unitarian Church were to have a slogan, that might be it. The church is a Unitarian-Universalist congregation, which partly means members do not share a single creed. Instead, theological diversity is encouraged. Reverend Gary Scott James leads services in one of the most unique sanctuaries Deerfield, or any other suburb, has to offer. The reverend's podium is actually a rock, transported from a farmer's field in Wisconsin and lodged on top of natural soil in the church. During those sermons, participants get to marvel at the sanctuary's fused-glass windows, an architectural masterpiece, rich with meaning.
