Village Removes Downtown Snow Friday Night

Patch is also keeping tabs on Monday's School schedule.

Now that Deerfield’s Public Works Department has spent three days of around the clock snow removal from the roadways, it will turn its attention to making downtown Deerfield easier to navigate for pedestrians.

“We’ll start after 9 p.m. and (the downtown sidewalks) will be clear by Saturday morning,” Andrew Lichterman, the assistant to the Village Manager, said. Both sidewalk and street plows will be used to complete the task. Village owned parking lots will also be cleared at that time.

With that project, the piles of snow—some more than a foot high—between parked cars and downtown sidewalks will be gone when people arrive to shop and dine Saturday morning, according to Lichterman.
