December ACT Scores Have Been Released
December ACT scores have been released. What happens now? Students who are satisfied with their scores can relax and focus on their college search.
What about the majority of students who want to improve their scores on their next test? Now is the time to plan for the Prairie State Achievement Exam (PSAE) in April. All high school juniors in Illinois are required to take the PSAE. The first day of that test is a real ACT that is accepted by colleges.
Most students will need some type of study to improve their scores. Simply retaking the test does not guarantee a higher score. Now is the time to decide what type of study will be appropriate. Some students are motivated to study on their own. There are study classes at school, private companies with group sessions, and private one-on-one tutoring.

There are many advantages to one-on-one tutoring. It is more efficient because the student is spending all tutoring time engaged with the tutor and can focus on specific areas of needed improvement. Scheduling is at the student's convenience, not a pre-set group time. It can also be cost effective when looking at the total cost rather than the hourly cost.
ACT study is a process that takes several weeks or months. Now is a good time to arrange the type of study that will be most beneficial for the PSAE.
