CJE SeniorLife Celebrates Over 40 Years of Service to Community in Grand Fashion with Dinner & Reception

On Tuesday evening, Oct. 8, CJE SeniorLife once again hosted a successful Celebrate CJE event, highlighting the organization’s more than 40 years of rich history and wide-range of innovative community-based services and programs. The eighth annual fundraising dinner and reception took place at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers and was attended by more than 600 people.

Evening highlights included a video presentation, which showcased CJE’s full range of programming, including life enrichment, supportive resources, healthcare, research and education. The Celebrate CJE program was capped off by a performance by The Philip Myers Band, who entertained the audience with their high energy repertoire of Billy Joel and Elton John songs through a special tribute.

“This year’s event was a great success. The evening celebrated CJE by showcasing testimonials from clients and highlighting programs that truly represent our mission,” said Jordy Berger, who co-chaired the dinner and program with fellow CJE Board member Karen Rosenthal. “We are grateful to all our supporters and all who attended this lively and uplifting event. Everyone’s contributions will make a positive impact on CJE’s supportive services and healthy aging programs that over 19,000 older adults in the Chicago area rely on annually.”

CJE SeniorLife is an innovative provider of life enrichment programs, supportive resources, healthcare, research and education for older adults and their families throughout Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. CJE maintains a deep and abiding commitment to Jewish communal values, and to the dignity and independence of the older person, through quality programs for positive aging.

Supporting Celebrate CJE helps the organization enhance and expand its core programs, including Alzheimer’s care, Parkinson’s programming, creative arts therapies, counseling and care management, personal care, community healthy aging and wellness programs. It also helps fund new projects, which include cardiologist-guided specialty care from the recently developed Lieberman Center for Heart Health, and their exciting, new Virtual Senior Center pilot program, which connects isolated older adults with interactive educational programs from the comfort of their own homes.
