Colt Foerch, winner of the 2014 Senior Warrior Baseball Scholarship in memory of Lila Steindler (voted on by his DHS baseball teammates) – Former DYBA commissioner Harry Steindler presented the honor to Foerch. Steindler’s mother, Lila, for whom this year’s Senior Warrior Baseball Scholarship is named, was an enthusiastic DYBA supporter for many years. Foerch earned the scholarship award for his ability to lead by example, showcase a selfless attitude in games, practices and off the field, and for his love of the game.

Addison Jacoby – On the field, Jacoby spent nine years playing DYBA and three years as an umpire; off the field he represented DHS as a member of the Central Suburban League Leadership Conference, was named to the DHS and Spanish Honor Societies and tirelessly volunteered for a number of local non-profit organizations

Jacob Taub – For 13 years Taub played DYBA baseball, he coached travel DYBA baseball for two and was an umpire for three years. Also, while at DHS, Taub earned membership into the Spanish Honor Society and held a position on the DHS Executive Board four straight years

“Each of the five honorees set examples for the Deerfield community and students following in their footsteps,” said Lew Bricker, commissioner of DYBA/DYSBA. “However, the scholarships that they’ve earned are just the beginning of what we see as bright futures for the winners. They are in position to continue to raise the bar everywhere that life takes them.”

All DYBA board members and parents of the College Scholarship Winners attended the presentation.
