Harriet, Stop the Schoolmarm Act

After reading the comments of our beloved "Mayor" Rosenthal in the latest meeting regarding the new Fresh Thyme store, I want to ask her to either learn how to negotiate at a professional level or step aside. These cheap little, public warnings about being - in this case - "very vigilant" couldn't be less productive. In my short time here, I've heard you give similar finger-shaking speeches to the owners of Deerbrook, Carsons and the new apartment complex on Deerfield Rd. And you NEVER follow through with any action of consequence that provides an improvement for the village. (How about an update on the May 6 info the Deerbrook developers promised in 90 days? How did that speech work ya? Still waiting ... ) So what's the purpose? In the end, you're fooling yourself if you think those speeches in a public forum provide any benefit, except maybe to your ego. Just once I'd like to see you give one of those speeches in favor of something that benefits a large majority of the village, rather than annoy the people attempting to bring a benefit to your underfunded village.
