Volunteers Needed to Help Seniors Remain Independent

Faith in Action Volunteers has a pressing need for volunteers who are willing to donate a few hours of their time once a week or every other week to make a real difference in someone's life. The needs vary with each situation. Here are just a few examples of seniors that are waiting for your helping hands.

Margaret is a 68 year old woman living in the Northeast Deerfield. She is recovering from a mild stroke and would love a friendly visitor to walk around the block with.

Rebecca is an 85 year old woman living alone in an apartment building near downtown Deerfield. She has difficulty raising her arms and would like help shopping for groceries.

Dorothy is an 83 year old woman living alone in Riverwoods. She has some health conditions that leave her rather frail, but she is still lively. She would like a ride to her physical therapy appointment once a week.

Minnie is 88 years old and lives in Coromandel. She is a recent widow and has no children. She is looking for someone to drive her to doctor appointments, take notes and pick up any necessary prescriptions

Volunteers set their own schedules.   We will assign you to a senior with a need that matches your interests as closely as possible. Please call Robbie Boudreau at 847-721-8414 or email faithinaction.boudreau@gmail.com.
