Bumblebee Wins Halloween Costume Contest
Alexa Kane and her dog Murphy take top honors.
A bumblebee and her flower were the and the bee flew in from Highland Park.
Alexa Kane, 11, of Highland Park now earns a chance for the grand prize which includes a three day, two night trip for two to New York or Los Angeles.
Alexa dressed as a bumblebee took top honors along with her dog Murphy who went as a flower. The photo of Alexa and Murphy was entered by her grandfather, Scott Kane of Deerfield.

“We dressed her up for the ,” Scott Kane said. “She went as a bumblebee and the dog was a flower.”
The trip includes a meet-and-greet with Heidi Klum plus a donation of $1,031 to a local charity of the winner's choice. Nine runners-up will also get a $1,031 donation from Patch to a local charity of their choice.

Should Alexa win the grand prize or be one of the runners-up, the donation in her honor will go to the Ethical Society in Skokie.
