Deerfield HS Students 'Jam for Justice'

A music and human rights festival will be held at DHS 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday to raise awareness and funds for school supplies for Chicago Public Schools students.

Students in the Human Rights Club at Deerfield High School will host an event Friday highlighting the issue of education inequality in the United States and abroad.

The "Jam for Justice: a Music and Human Rights Festival," will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, in the school’s courtyard.

The main attraction is student bands that will perform during lunch hours.  Between acts, guest speakers will highlight the message that education is a human right and will share ways in which education inequities in the Chicago area and abroad can be addressed.
