Deerfield Optimists Offer Merit Scholarships

All high school students in the Village are eligible.

College scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5000 will be awarded to high school students living in Deerfield by the Deerfield Optimists, according to an email from club member Judy Geuder.

The grants are based on community service regardless of academic performance or financial need. The awards are not limited to Deerfield High School students.

“Any student living in the area that could go to Deerfield High School is eligible, even if they attend Highland Park High School or a private school,” Geuder said in the email.
