Food Pantry Adds Personal Touch

Supervisor Alyson Feiger wants all kids to feel good.

More than 250 Deerfield, Lake Forest and Highland Park families get some of their food from the West Deerfield Township and lately there has been a personal touch.

In addition to food and sundries, West Deerfield Township Supervisor Alyson Feiger has added Fourth of July and summer bags to the package. They include things like pool passes.

"We want the children to feel like all the other children," Feiger said. "They can ride their bike to the pool."

All the food is donated and the shelves are often stocked by volunteers including Patch today.

Listen to Feiger tell more on the Patch video.
