Gallery: DHS Choraliers Entertain Deerfield Rotary

Deerfield High School students sing songs of the season.

The Choraliers from Deerfield High School, dressed in their Santa hats, red bow ties, and snazzy formal wear, visited the Deerfield Rotary Club Friday for their 23rd holiday appearance before the local civic club at the Italian Kitchen.

Alicia Akers, director of DHS Choirs, led more than 30 students in a half hour's medley of holiday songs of the season.

Akers said this is a busy time of year for the students, who are in demand at numerous charitable events for the elderly.

Rotary President Dorothy Collins presented the group with a stipend to carry out their good works throughout the year, and encouraged the youngsters to consider forming a local youth chapter of Rotary International.
