General Weather Discussion for the Week Ahead

A better start to the day as low clouds and drizzle have shifted well to our east over Michigan and Indiana with a much drier airmass in place on Friday. The area will experience partly sunny skies with more clouds arriving during the afternoon, as the next weak disturbance approaches from the northwest. A few light showers and sprinkles may accompany this disturbance with the best chance of rain occurring between 4 p.m. and 1 a.m. Saturday.

The good news is that the weather disturbance will take a one-way ticket out of here with the sun making another welcome appearance on Saturday. This will certainly be a good day to go outdoors to play a game of or perhaps take a nice stroll along the lakefront. Clouds will begin to increase again late in the day from the west as yet another small disturbance moves in from Wisconsin and Minnesota.

This disturbance will cause more unsettled conditions on Sunday with a chance of showers and sprinkles scattered throughout the day and during the first part of the evening. This fast moving disturbance will clear the area by Sunday night and this will lead to a nice Halloween as Mother Nature currently has no tricks up her sleeves, just treats, with a very pleasant day in store for the area.

A cold front will approach the area toward the middle of next week with a fairly good chance of rain showers by Wednesday with perhaps some wrap-around showers for a time Thursday morning. More rain could approach the area by next weekend as the pattern becomes active but the good news is that I do not see any snow in the forecast going into the first week of November. Temperatures will also average a little below average during this time, with the coldest temperatures staying north of our region.
