Healthy Lifestyle Expo Set Saturday

Eighth annual event offers health screenings, fitness demonstrations and cooking lessons.

Tips for living a healthy lifestyle will be available during the eighth annual Healthy Lifestyle Expo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sachs Recreation Center, according to a news release from the Deerfield Bannockburn Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce.

There will be fitness exhibitions every 30 minutes as well as healthy cooking demonstrations at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Flu shots will be available for $30 and pneumonia vaccinations will be offered for $45. There is no charge for those with Medicare Part B, according to the release. Hearing, glaucoma, blood sugar screenings and bone density testing will be offered.

A shredding truck will be at the Sachs Recreation Center. Each person can dispose of three grocery bags for free.

The event is a joint effort by the Chamber and the Patty Turner Center. It is free.
