Lake Cook Trip Takes 17 Minutes

Patch traveled Lake Cook Road today to see how the construction is going.

With the Lake Cook Road construction two weeks ahead of schedule and in a new phase, Patch decided to drive it again around the noon hour today.

Was it good?

Was it bad?

The trip began at 11:45 a.m. when I turned left from Pfingsten Road onto Lake Cook Road. The traffic was moving slowly with a lot of stop and go. That is how it remained until I reached Waukegan Road at noon.

Once I passed Waukegan Road, the traffic moved at a normal pace. It took two minutes to reach Ellendale in steady traffic.

Right after my first turn onto Lake Cook Road, I pulled into the parking lot at Deerlake Road to take the first video. The right turn into a new traffic pattern took some patience. The best thing about it was the courtesy of all the drivers I encountered. Everyone seemed to feel we are all in this together.

When the traffic comes to a standstill as it is bound to do between now and October, using a hand held cell phone is not the ideal way to pass the time. Police are targeting violators.
