Patty Turner Center Offers New Activities

Tai-chi, a road trip to see a play and more start soon.

The following activities are offered by the , 375 Elm St.:

Spring sessions of Tai Chi Yang Style (course number 313217) for men and women 50 years of age and older will start April 3 at the Center. Classes will be from 10:45 to 11:45 and offered for Tuesdays only or Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The center's Women’s Social will feature “Letters From Camp” at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday April 10 (Activity #313231; Section 05). The program offers a whimsical and delightful reading of camp letters by Diane Falanga, author of “P.S. I Hate It Here: Kid’s Letters From Camp.” Light refreshments will be served. The fee is $5 for members and $15 for non-members. The registration deadline for this program, sponsored by of Deerfield, is Tuesday April 3. Registration is limited to 40.

The center will host an excursion to the Northlight Theatre to see a performance of “Ten Chimneys” on Wednesday April 11 (Activity #313250; Section 01).  The bus departs from the Center at 10:30 a.m. The fee, which is $90 for members and $100 for non-members, includes lunch at McCormick and Schmick’s (mixed green salad or clam chowder, your choice of an entree, chef-selected sides, chocolate truffle cake and a beverage). The registration deadline is March 23.

Pianists Saori Chiba and Paul Dykstra will perform works by Mozart, Brahms and Bizet in a four-hands piano recital at 2 p.m. Sunday April 29 at the center. The program, sponsored by Whitehall, costs $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Registration deadline is April 20; the maximum number of guests is 100.
