Starting Monday Deerfield Road will be closed in both directions at the Metra underpass while crews work on constructing a pedestrian tunnel. A detour route will be established.
Previously, Deerfield Road was periodically blocked for construction that typically ran from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Now the road will be completely shutdown.
According to Deerfield Village, the closure may last up to three weeks. However, the time period could be shortened depending on the work schedule.
