Junior high artists are invited to submit their favorite projects to the North Suburban YMCA's Juried Junior High Art Show, with cash prizes sponsored by the Northbrook Arts Commission. Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 are welcome to submit any two-dimensional, ready-to-hang artwork at the Y's guest service desk between September 15 and October 20. The Y's Visual Arts Department will host a reception and awards ceremony on November 4 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, and the artwork will be on display throughout the month of November.
Young artists who would like help regarding their projects are welcome to attend a free workshop in the Y art studio on September 21 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Instructors from the Y as well as art students from Glenbrook North High School will be on hand to offer ideas and advice.
