Village Gears Up for Fine Arts Festival

More than 100 artists slated to showcase work this weekend.

We’re less then one week away from Deerfield’s Fine Arts Festival and so far more than 100 artists are signed up for the weekend event.

For the past nine years residents have been flocking to Deerfield for two days of art, music, food and fun.

The festival kicks off on Saturday at 10 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m. on Sunday on Park Avenue north of Deerfield Road and west of Waukegan Road.

"This may well be one of the best fine arts festivals we have ever held,” Mayor Harriet Rosenthal said. “Quality and variety will be found in every vendor and booth.”

This year some highlighted artists include South African oil panter Fiona Collins, Wisconsin jeweler Ward Siegler and Washington sculptor Bob Wilfong.
