NORTH SHORE MAYORS UNITE IN FIGHT AGAINST LUNG CANCER

North Shore-area mayors and village/city presidents gathered on Monday, April 21, 2014 for a joint proclamation ceremony declaring Sunday, April 27, 2014 “Breathe Deep North Shore Day” in an effort to raise awareness for the fight against lung cancer.

Of the 18 communities that issued proclamations 11 attended the joint proclamation ceremony at Deerfield Village Hall and shared what inspired their commitment to this critical cause. Attendees included:

Many of the same mayors will attend Breathe Deep North Shore on Sunday, April 27th. Breathe Deep North Shore is a 5k fun run, 2.5 or 1.5 mile walk, and balloon launch to raise funds for effective early detection methods and treatments of lung cancer. LUNGevity Foundation anticipates over 1,600 participants on Sunday, April 27, and expects to exceed their fundraising goal of $185,000.
