Bubble Bursts for Mondelez's Gum Market

Not only is Wrigley selling more gum than snack company Mondelez, based in Deerfield, fewer teens and tweens are even chewing, according to a report in Crain's Chicago Business.

Deerfield-based candy and snacks company Mondelez International, Inc. has chocolate covered, but isn't performing so well in the gum market, reports Crain's Chicago Business.

Mondelez, a Fortune 500 company whose products include Trident and Stride gum, is losing sales to Wrigley, reports Crain's. Gum sales for Mondelez have dropped 9.7 percent in the United States over the past three years.
