Library, Morrison campaign office open in the last week.

Two new tenants opened their doors at Cadwell Corners shopping center this week at the corner of Lake Cook and Waukegan Roads in Deerfield.

“The district is half in Lake County and half in Cook County and we want to be equally accessible to both constituencies,” Morrison said of her new office that was once a hair salon.

Library Director Mary Pergander has not noticed any reduction in use since the temporary location opened. With the library in moving mode for the last month, .

“On a normal day we get 1,000 items returned,” Pergander said. “On Monday we got 10,000. We normally get 300 people a day and we’ve seen no decline at all.”

Morrison thinks it is possible the energy from her office and the library will help fill some of the other vacant space in the center. “I’m hopeful people will like it her in the Village,” she said. “I hope what we are doing will help.”
