Chamber Event Provides Holiday Cheer

Deerfield Bannockburn Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce celebrates 86th annual holiday event.

Holiday spirit was in the air when the celebrated its 86th annual holiday party Wednesday at the . 

More than 140 people gathered to honor business of the year GCG Financial and volunteer of the year Linda McCabe, listen to the music of the , enjoy food provided by 14 local businesses and all kinds of beverages. 

GCG is a full services financial company which has been meeting the needs of customers since 1961. Management and employees of GCG have donated time to civic activities as well as servicing clients according to Chief Executive Officer Alan Levitz.

“This shows recognition of the volunteer work of all of our associates,” Levitz said of the people who comprise the company. “It recognizes the fact our associates volunteer their time to the Chamber and other causes in the community.” 

McCabe, who works for Optimal Level, feels at times she receives more than she gives. “When you have the opportunity to help somebody it’s a blessing,” she said.

While bidding on  nearly 100 items at a silent auction, people had the chance to sample food from , Bridie McKenna’s, , , , Hyatt Deerfield, , , , , , , and .

“We hope people will continue to dine out in Deerfield,” Chamber Executive Director Victoria Street said of the tastes provided.
