Deerfield Adds Three New Restaurants

Noodles & Company opened this week, Rosebud and Biaggi’s opening soon

Deerfield’s dining options are expanding, with the opening of three new restaurants.

Rosebud Italian Country House & Pizzeria plans to open Monday, taking over the former home of Baker’s Square at 560 Waukegan Road. The casual restaurant from Chicago’s Rosebud Restaurant Group moved from Highland Park’s , despite the city’s efforts to keep it there.

The new Rosebud will offer lunch and dinner daily, serving pizza and regional Italian cuisine along with signature Rosebud dishes like fish salad and brick chicken. Low glycemic, gluten-free and whole wheat pastas will be available by request.

Tuesday was the opening of Noodles & Company’s first Deerfield location in . The counter-service chain offers made-to-order Asian, Mediterranean and American noodle dishes, sandwiches and salads. The Colorado-based company already has spots in Evanston, Glenview, Niles and Skokie.

Deerfield’s board of trustees approved a liquor license for Biaggi’s at Monday’s meeting after hearing about the restaurant from managing partner Thomas Dierking. The chain of casual Italian restaurants has locations in 12 states, with seven restaurants in Illinois, including spots in Deer Park, Algonquin and Naperville. The location in The Shops at Deerfield Square is expected to open Nov. 7, taking over Stoney River Legendary Steaks former space.

The restaurant serves large portions of pasta, pizza, seafood and steaks made from scratch along with an American and Italian wine list. It will also offer a children’s menu and a gluten-free menu. Dierking said the restaurant is currently hiring, looking to fill 100 positions, including 50 servers and 40 cooks.

Rosebud?? Seriously?? $14.00 for the lowest price pasta on the menu. Bring back Baker's Square where you can have a decent dinner and dessert for less then $10 bucks. With the economy the way it is, bringing in a high priced restaurant is a slap in the face!!!

A slap in the face? You've got to be kidding. A vacant Bakers Square building or Rosebud? I'm happy to see a new business come to town.
