Deerfield’s Mondelez Taps Twitter Staff in Marketing Collaboration

Locally based maker of Oreo cookies and other snack food reaches out to Twitter to improve real time marketing.

Remember when the lights went out during the last Super Bowl?

Did you get a Tweet then from Deerfield based Mondelez letting you know, “You can still dunk in the dark?” According to Tech Blog, that may have been the beginning of something much bigger for one of America’s leading snack food businesses.

Now the locally based global maker of Oreo Cookies, Trident Gum and more is it a step further and embedding members of Twitter’s staff in key parts of the company to help it achieve even better real time marketing, according to a story in the Financial Times.

“The whole point here is being able to react to what is being talked about in culture in the moment when it is being talked about,” Mondelez Vice President of Global Media Bonin Bough said in the Financial Times story. “Twitter is constantly evolving their platform and technology. Being able to be close to that is a huge opportunity for us.”
