Fifth Highland Park Business Closes in October

Blue Cat Café joins four other downtown businesses which have closed their Highland Park storefronts this month. New foot massage business will open in Port Clinton Square.

Blue Cat Café closed recently at Port Clinton Square while Asian Foot Spa is set to open in the downtown Highland Park shopping center and unofficial town square, according to David Strusiner, the vice president for leasing for Craig Steven Development Corporation which owns Port Clinton.

While Strusiner actively looks for a tenant to occupy Blue Cat’s space next to Dairy Queen at the front of Port Clinton Square, he said Asian Foot Spa will be open by the end of the year. His company is preparing the space for the new tenant. “It’s for massages for the feet,” he said.

Blue Cat joins Benjamin Tapas, In the Raw, Blue Rose and Teacher Peach as store fronts which closed their doors in October. Teacher Peach, which started as an online operation, is concentrating its efforts on the Internet.
