Kraft's Oreo Division Picks Deerfield Location

Mondelez, the snack food division of Kraft, will arrive in Deerfield by the end of the year.

Deerfield will get its latest corporate headquarters when Mondelez International Inc., the soon to be snack foods part of Kraft Foods, moves to 3 Parkway North just south of Deerfield Road off Sanders Road.

Kraft is in the midst of changing its corporate structure. When it is done by the end of the year, the new headquarters will be in Deerfield, according to company spokesperson John Simley. Mondelez will join corporate giants and calling the Village home.

“It is very important to us not to inconvenience our employees moving to a new location,” Smiley said. “This location is only seven miles from Northfield. It’s close to 94, 294 and a straight shot to the airport.”

Approximately 400 employees will move into the new custom designed 105,000 square foot facility.

In March, the company announced plans to divide Kraft into two divisions. When the corporate restructuring is complete, Kraft Foods, Inc., will become Mondelez International, Inc., and will be responsible for the company’s global snack food business like Oreo, according to Simley.

After the name chance, the company will make its grocery enterprise a separate corporation. “We will spin off our national grocery business which will be Kraft Foods Group, Inc., “Simley said. That firm will remain in the current Northfield headquarters.
