New Businesses Arrive in Downtown Deerfield

Robert Vance coming next month and Fannie May should arrive for winter holiday season.

Downtown Deerfield is buzzing with construction sounds of four new businesses which should start arriving next month and all be moved in by the end of March.

Robert Vance, a long time clothier of high end men’s fashions, hopes to open by the end of September in Deerfield Square, according to owner Jack Shniderman of Deerfield. The company has been in the area for nearly 40 years.

Fannie May Candies, which will be located near the southeast corner of Waukegan and Deerfield Roads, is ready to begin its own construction phase after the landlord completed its share of the work, according to Property Manager Tara Hansen. The company plans to open for the winter holiday season, according to company spokesperson Katie Toomey.

A frozen yogurt shop is slated to go in next to Fannie May. A lease is signed but no signs have been submitted for approval to the Appearance Review Commission, according to Village Planner Jeanne Spagnoli.

Tria Boutique, which recently got approval of the Village Board of Trustees to go forward with its plans in Deerfield Square, will offer high end accessories including shoes, handbags and jewelry. It plans on a March opening.
