Poll Results: More Food Wanted on Deerfield Square
With only one vacancy left in downtown Deerfield's largest shopping center, poll respondents express an overwhelming desire for something to do with food.
Food was on the mind of the people responding to the latest Patch poll published Friday seeking suggestions for a potential occupant for the only remaining vacant space on Deerfield Square.
Of the 16 people who answered, 10 suggested either a specialty food store or an establishment which serves food, beverage or both. Five hope for the store while the other five want the edibles served to them.

One person wanted sporting goods while another would like to see children’s clothing or accessories. Four would like to see something else and made their ideas known in the comments below the story.
“A small home furnishes store like Adesso or Jolie Maison in HP (Highland Park),” wrote Diane. Susan Canole would like to see a Hallmark store.

There are others who would like to see something offering lower priced goods. Robert Chesrow suggests a resale store. For Kathryn, price matters too. “(A) Dollar store, something seniors can afford. We live here too,” she wrote.
Frozen Yogurt got a number of votes. “It would be a tremendous draw,” Deerfield Resident wrote. Harry Steindler likes the idea of frozen yogurt, but that is only one of his suggestions.
“Good Chinese or Mexican restaurant (not sure it's large enough) or frozen yogurt,” Steindler wrote.
TMom is thinking about food too. In her case it is not for people. “Kriser's Pet Food Store, I think it would do very well,” she wrote.
