Neighborhood Entrepreneur Puts New Definition on Local

Ravinia Coffee Station owner Josh Weisbart lives in the neighborhood and chooses suppliers from as nearby as possible.

Josh Weisbart, the owner of the new Ravinia Coffee Station on St. Johns Avenue near Roger Williams Avenue in the Ravinia neighborhood, is trying to give the term local business a new meaning.

Weisbart opened his coffee shop—he also sells pastries—Nov. 11 featuring Chicago’s Passion House coffee. And, Chicago is the location of his most distant import.

“All our pastry is fresh from Bent Fork in Highwood,” Weisbart said. “The bagels and donuts are from Once Upon a Bagel.” And, he only has to walk about 100 yards to work from his residence.
