Video: What's Hot at This Year's Farmers Market?

Saturday event thriving in 17th season; features vegetables called Patty Pans and popcorn that won't stick in your teeth.

Since 1995, the Deerfield Farmers Market has been serving local residents with the freshest fruits and vegetables from around the area and this season is no exception.

"This year, the market has been really good," said Jonathan Jeffrey, an employee of Walt Skibbe Farms from Eau Claire, MI. "Last year it rained on us a lot but it's really picking up this year. We haven't had any issues and we've been selling out of almost everything since the market started."

Local residents have been flooding the market on Saturday mornings, taking advantage of a wide variety of food choices.

"We're here pretty much every week," Deerfield resident Stuart Shayman said. "I really think the variety of what they're bringing has really expanded nicely. They now have the meat and fresh eggs and organic selection."
