Walgreen CEO Says All Options Being Considered for HQ

The company will tell investors by early next month if it is moving its headquarters from Deerfield, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Walgreen Company’s CEO Greg Wasson told the Chicago Tribune that he is exploring “all options” on the company’s future, including whether it will move its corporate headquarters from Deerfield.

The company is hoping to complete its acquisition of European-based Boots pharmacies and is under pressure from both Wall Street and investors to move its headquarters to Europe to take advantage of a more favorable tax environment.

In an interview with the Tribune last week, Wasson said, “it's my fiduciary responsibility to explore all structures and all options and weigh the risk-reward scenarios with all of the above, as we are.”
