Where's the Best Place to Eat in Highwood?

Where's your favorite food in nearby Highwood?

By Jacob Nelson

Since I started covering the North Shore a few years ago, I'd always heard that Highwood is an interesting, festive and delicious nearby.

The small community offers an array of festivals every summer in addition to an awesome weekly, gourmet farmer's market. What's more, it's got a ton of restaurants, and many of them get heaps of praise from Highwood residents as well as residents of Highland Park, Lake Forest, Deerfield and other neighboring North Shore towns.

My first dining experience in Highwood was at La Casa de Isaac, and I was blown away by how awesome the food was as well as how amazingly friendly the owners were and continue to be. And why shouldn't they be? The North Shore has treated them well, giving them enough business to support a second location basically a mile away in Highland Park as well as a small grocery store/deli next to their Highwood restaurant (where they serve their increasingly popular green drink).

So now you know my go-to spot in Highwood. What's yours?
