Library Board and Park District Commissioner Slated by Citizen’s Council

The votes are in. See which candidates were slated for Library and the Park District Boards.

Last night, the Citizen’s Council finished hearing from the candidates seeking election for the Library Board and Park District.  In a closed meeting, the Council discussed each candidate before sending it to a vote.

The issues that were discussed by the Library Board candidates focused on the ability of the library to be technologically advanced as its end users; to meet the evolving needs and demands of the community; to satisfy the maintenance requirements of its building and property; and to provide more parking.

The Park District candidate’s discussion focused on the improvements made to the Park District during his 8-year tenure, the continuing need for a healthy dialogue to understand what the community’s needs are and the need to further improve and enhance the Park District’s facilities, properties and programs.

After a thorough review of applications and interview process, the Council slated Becky Spratford (incumbent), Bill Coffee (incumbent), Mary Nelson (incumbent) and Tim Kelpsas. In addition, the Council slated Bob Ashby for one of the open commissioner positions on the Park District Board.  It is their commitment to the community, a cumulative 50 years, and the experience they bring to the Library Board and the Park District Board that can ensure that the citizens of La Grange have solid infrastructures that help keep the community thriving.

The next slating session is scheduled for Wednesday, November 28th @ 7:00 PM at Village Hall.  The slating will be for  (1) Village President and three Village Trustees.   More information about the Council and the candidates can be found at: www.lgcitizenscouncil.org

Oh Jim no no you told the citizens council last time that you wouldn't run if you didn't get picked 2 years ago and I heard the Council extended their deadline like, 4 times? How is it that 2 slots at the Council went empty without any application from you? I also heard you were AT a park board meeting or two where the council was represented AND asked people to apply yet you did not apply. was the application from you lost in the mail to the council?

Hmmm...I looked for a comment here with your name, and I only see multiple posts from "Boo, Jim, Boo", including this one, which does not match your name as a submitter. Boo, Jim, boo. If you want to be in politics, then shouldn't you buck up and manage posts like this with more decorum and professional demeanor? Goodness I can only imagine how your behavior looks if you actually make it on to any board. If your behavior comes across to me as an angry, lashing-out response to only mild criticism, can we all hope for something different when you are *directly* criticized for any actions or comments you make, if you somehow make it to public office?! Shouldn't we all wonder if the attorney budget for the Park District should be raised to defend against legal actions caused by actions and comments like this? I believe that you have created strong political enemies along your journey with your perceived sharp criticism of the Park District! There is still time to drop out of the candidacy and it's an honorable thing to step down if it can maintain your integrity. To clarify, I was misinformed: Jim Boo did apply in 2008 to the Citizen's Council of La Grange and received a nomination, he then attempted in 2009 to get elected to the Park District of La Grange, and then lost the election. Finally, I "hear" lots of things, and I hear them regardless how absurd you may find your own actions.

Let it be clear that the person under the parody name is not Jim Boo. VoteBoo.org is the candidate's campaign website.

Let it be clear that the real Jim Boo posted a comment complaining about my first comment, resulting in my next comment, which JIM BOO HAS SINCE DELETED!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha...at least he's smart enough to erase his seemingly angry behavior, but NOW we should all worry if he tries to delete other "things" that he's done in the past!!! Oh, the transparency!!!

Ha! Can we try to dig up a Jim Boo comment? It's ALMOST, let's say, as if Jim Boo responded on Feb. 10th, above, between November 19th, 2012 and February 12th, 2013. Maybe Jim Boo would say something like this: "Remove this post with my name as the submitter. A spineless person would use someone else's name, not their own. FYI, I did not apply or run for a position in 2011, how could I not get "picked". Your comment from, "I also heard" is absurd. How could I ask people to apply to a board at a meeting where I was a spectator? Why don't you run a write as a write in candidate, and let us know who you are?" Nah...probably not. If he posted something like above, he would go back and delete any seemingly angry behavior only a few days later. Anyone Else But Boo.
