New Monthly "Taste of Shabbat" Service Beginning This Month

Congregation Ahavat Olam is offering something intriguing and new on the 4th Friday of each month, beginning on Friday, February 28 at 7:30-8:30 p.m., at 600 Deerfield Road (at Christ United Methodist Church). A "Taste of Shabbat" service is a very brief service highlighting a few special Shabbat prayers, followed by a presentation that is open to the public, free of charge and appealing to people of all faiths.

On February 28, Dr. Elana Ashley's presentation, geared primarily for adults, is entitled: Literary and Artistic Visions: Dramatic Readings Inspired by Original Artwork Written and Created by Dr. Elana Ashley.

Congregation Ahavat Olam is a Reform congregation that gathers on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month to celebrate Shabbat in an intimate setting, led by their spiritual leader, Cantor Nancy Diamond Landsman (a rabbinic student at the Hebrew Seminary for the Deaf and Hearing). Membership is diverse and includes singles and married couples of all ages. Guests and newcomers are warmly welcomed. To learn more about this inclusive community visit their website at ahavatolamdeerfield.org or call Alan Posner at (847)502-8120.
