Warriors finish 3/4 at CSL NORTH Indoor Conference Championships

Warriors Finish Indoor Season 3rd/ 4th at CSL North Invite

ON Friday March 21st the 41 Warriors traveled to Glenbrook North to compete in the 2014 Indoor CSL North Invitational.  The goal of this meet every year is to get as many looks as possible at as many athletes as possible; therefore, the goal is fundamentals, practice, effort and to compete as best as one can on that day.  For the 4th meet in a row the coaches put in a different looking lineup and saw many new faces thrust into a starting role.  The Warriors overall gave great effort and had some excellent performances by some, OK by others, and as to be expected during Indoor at times some bad fundamental Track & Field by some as well.  After coming off another tough few weeks of illness that has really hit this Team hard and a GREAT week of motivating Outdoor Practices for those healthy the Team overall was just a little flat and not as sharp in some events.  This was somewhat expected as the coaches focus with the training this week was to work hard through this meet and the legs showed that as we were mainly “heavy” in a lot of the Track events.  What’s great about this team is they really understand the training philosophy and have stayed “ON SCHEDULE” for the Outdoor progressions and that is always the focus of the 41 journey to May.

Results were as follows: ON Varsity the team finished a solid 3rd behind a Highland Park team that continues to impress as they won their 3rd straight meet in a row and will be the team that everyone will be chasing on May 16th at the Outdoor CSL Championships and behind the always tough Niles North program that just keeps reloading every year.  The Warriors were well ahead of Maine East in 4th, 5th place GBN, and 6th place Maine West.   On The Frosh/Soph level the boys had illness and some nagging injuries continue to keep the brakes on this group.  The boys did a nice job of focusing on the goal of the meet and that was to just get some good experiences in the Field and on the Track and the boys stayed motivated and intense throughout the entire meet.  Congrats to ALL 41 Warriors on a solid and good Indoor season in all phases.  OUTDOOR IS HERE!
