Warriors Battle Trevians to a Tie

The Deerfield Warriors got a measure of revenge for last week’s 2-0 loss to New Trier at Robert Naughton Stadium in Northfield with a 1-1 at the same location.  New Trier went on top in the 16th minute when a Trevian shot deflected off the knee of a Warrior defender and into the far corner of the net.  Deerfield responded less than five minutes later.  Jamie Ackerson won a free kick on the wing, and Ryan Kaplan served the ball into the penalty area.  Charlie Kogan tapped the ball to Tim Klabjan, who slotted it home to tie the game at 1.  Troy Kayne made ten saves for the Warriors to preserve the tie.  The Warriors now have a season high three game unbeaten streak as they travel to Niles West tomorrow to face the Wolves in the regular season finale.
