Warriors Tie Undefeated Evanston

The Deerfield Warrior boys soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to three games with a come from behind tie against the undefeated Evanston Wildkits Wednesday night at Adams Field.  The Wildkits took the lead with a goal off a Warrior turnover in the 35th minute.  The Warriors were dangerous throughout the evening on restarts, generating a number of good chances.  With 15 minutes left, Eli Perez’s corner kick was flicked against the post by Niklas Wood.  The Warriors continued to push for the equalizer, and their patience was rewarded with four minutes remaining.  Matt Grady outmuscled his defender and slid the ball into the path of Charlie Kogan, whose left footed curling shot eluded the keeper for his second consecutive game tying goal.  Troy Kayne made five saves for the Warriors (1-4-2).  The Warriors open conference play in the Central Suburban League North Division next Tuesday when they visit the Niles North Vikings at 7 PM.
