Shake it Up

/Park Foundation and Deerfield invite you to “Shake It Up!” by creating and submitting your own special milkshake recipe for the chance at being selected for Tom and Eddie’s “Silver Spatula” Award. The lucky award winner will receive a free sandwich every week for a year, and, you’ll be helping Deerfield Parks and Schools as well! Do you think you have a milkshake that tastes great? Now is your chance to share it with everyone just for the fun of it – or to find out if it’s “award-winning."

This “Shake It Up!” activity, in celebration of Tom and Eddie's One Year Birthday on June 15, is part of a cooperative fundraising venture  -a special “Shake Week,” taking place Thursday, May 31 through Wednesday, June 6, at Tom and Eddie’s, 740 Waukegan Road, in Deerfield. Proceeds from “Shake Week” benefit the Foundations of both the Park District and that of School District 109!

Entering your own original, tasty, unique (and “fairly” each to create) Milkshake Recipe is as easy and fun as you’d like to make it. Tom & Eddie’s shakes are made with Haagen Dasz vanilla ice cream – you decide the rest of your recipe! No need to give an exact recipe, just the flavor name and list of ingredients. A panel of judges from the Park District and Tom & Eddie’s will choose the winner. Recipes must be submitted to Deerfield Park District by or before Thursday, May 24, 5:00 p.m., along with entrant’s Name, Email, Phone, City of Residence, and Age (if under 18, and with Parent’s permission). Only one (1) “Shake It Up!” Recipe allowed per person.
